More about the speaker: 

Jonas Prising was named ManpowerGroup Chairman in December of 2015 and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) in May of 2014. He leads all aspects of ManpowerGroup’s $21 billion business in 80 countries and territories worldwide. Prior to being elected CEO, Prising served as ManpowerGroup President from 2012 to 2014, leading the company’s operations in the Americas and Southern Europe, and overseeing the global Right Management and ManpowerGroup Solutions businesses. Prising joined ManpowerGroup in 1999 and has also served as managing director of Manpower Italy; director of Manpower Global Accounts — Europe, Middle East and Africa; President of North America; and President of the Americas.

A recognized expert on the labour market and world of work trends, Prising regularly speaks at conferences and summits globally and provides commentary on jobs and employment trends for media. He is actively engaged in the World Economic Forum, including as a Steward of the Future of Education, Gender and Work Global System; Co-Chair of the Regional Business Council on Europe and CEO Champion of the Digital Transformation Initiative.

Before joining ManpowerGroup, Prising worked for Electrolux, a Swedish multinational. During his 10-year tenure with Electrolux, he held various international positions within the consumer goods and business-to-business divisions, including regional manager for Asia Pacific, managing director of Sales Companies in France and the United Kingdom, and finally head of Global Sales and Marketing for one of its business-to-business divisions.

Prising is passionate about preparing the workforce of tomorrow. He is Vice Chairman of Junior Achievement (JA) Worldwide and is a former Chairman of the Board and a current board member of Junior Achievement (JA) USA. In addition, he serves as a co-chair of Innovation in Milwaukee, an organization focused on supporting entrepreneurial leadership, and is a member of the board of directors of Kohl’s Corporation.

Prising holds an MBA (equivalent) from the Stockholm School of Economics and has participated in executive programs at Harvard, INSEAD, Stanford and Yale. He speaks five languages: English, French, German, Swedish and Italian and has lived in nine countries across Asia, Europe and North America. Prising and his family reside in the Milwaukee area.

Ben played a very important role in the rescue mission and has accepted our invitation to come and share what happened with you. At the occasion, BeLuThai will present a special gift to Ben for his heroic action.

There has been a lot of news recently regarding updates and changes to the Thai Labour Law, Work Permits and Visas in Thailand. We’ve heard about SmartVisas, changes to Work Permit conditions, the new Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) Act and so on. Do they all have a bit of “The Good, The Bad and The Ugly”? Or are some a bit more one that the other? Featuring no cowboys at all, our PKF specialists will provide a “Spaghetti Eastern” look at “Thai Labour Law, Work Permits and Visas – The Good, The Bad and The Ugly” . We will give both general updates as it pertains to all of Thailand, and will also be looking more closely at the ESB and specifically the new EEC laws as they relate to employment. Also, Once Upon a Time in the East will feature the heroine whom always saves the day, Khun Chutinun, head of Corporate Legal Services.

Joint-Chamber Business Speed Dating (BSD) @ So Sofitel Hotel

The Franco-Thai Chamber Of Commerce is organizing for the 1st time a “Joint-Chamber Business Speed Dating (BSD)” on 27 September from 4 pm- 6.30pm at So Sofitel Hotel.

The Business Speed Dating (known as well as a Business Matching) has been organized at least twice a year by FTCC for the past 3 years in the hope to facilitate/help our Members to find & meet new business partner.

Since its creation the Business Speed Dating has always been a success, with an average of 30-40 participants per event and we have always received several good feedback from our participants. Our regular are usually SME & International companies from different sectors (hospitality, industrial, services, legal, construction, IT etc.) with companies such as: Accor, Orbis, ATA Services, Ventury, Gummy Bear, Total Oil, SmartSoftAsia, Bolloré, MSH and so many more…

For the 1st time and in order to increase the chance of our regular participants to meet new companies and increase their chance to  make new partnership we would like to open this event to other chambers to join us.

Our Business Speed Dating is usually followed by a networking cocktail for participants to have some talk after the Business Speed Dating.
