Acquire insights on the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and human-machine interfaces in the Hospitality, Tourism & Travel industries. The event will be presented in an interactive and thought provoking manner, searching for answers on these main questions:

– What will it really mean for hospitality, tourism and travel stakeholders?

– What will be the legal consequences in case of accidents and service failure?

– How will it impact the Human Resources characteristics of our service industries?

– What technical challenges will we all face if, and when, AI will “take over “?

– What will be the social significance, both for consumers and service suppliers?

AI will impact everyone in every sector at work and in our daily life. It already does…

For instance, Google search culls millions of options every second of every day for people seeking a good hotel or meal. That’s possible due to AI, or machine-learning, where Google can’t only crunch data at the speed of light, but also “learns” how to deliver more nuanced results.

Thompson, part of TUI UK & Ireland, offers a travel search tool, built through the IBM Cloud and equipped with natural language processing capabilities and IBM Watson technology. Through the tool, tourists will be able to converse with a chatbot to gain real-time search results for travel inquiries.

“AI is simply a group of technologies that will increasingly be used to augment human capabilities, and make us better at the things we do best.” says Dr Mario Hardy. “What’s more, AI isn’t a story set in the distant future. It’s here today, and improving our lives in countless ways.”

“Tourism players have already started to implement AI along the customer journey,” stated Khun Chanchai Tanatkatrakul. “There are very tangible AI use cases available today, however, they only offer a first glimpse of what we will see over the next years.”

While Dr Kom believes that AI will not only boost the customization of the travelers’ experiences, but also provide invaluable traveler insights for all tourism industries professionals.
